Launch & promotion
Roblox launch and update: operating plan
A launch is a sequence of decisions about risk, access, and the next expansion. Before unfamiliar players arrive, verify critical paths and rollback, enable the funnel, and separate channels. Protect data and availability on release day; draw product conclusions only when their windows mature.
Action essentials
Seven actions in priority order
Stage size follows the question and acceptable harm. A small group exposes confusion and defects but rarely establishes D7. A large influx produces evidence faster while scaling every unresolved blocker.
Separate immediate stop conditions from product review points. Data loss, widespread join failure, or failed purchase fulfillment need action now. Weak D1 cannot be read honestly before cohort maturity. For an urgent fix, record exact time, build, and affected sources so broken and repaired versions are not blended.
Finish the postmortem with one owner, one decision, and a review date rather than a general idea list. Keep facts, limitations, and hypotheses separate so an observed coincidence does not become a causal claim.
- Choose the access mode for a specific question.
- Close critical-path gaps and prepare rollback.
- Assign owners and advancement criteria.
- Separate channels and metric maturity.
- Change little and keep a launch log.
- Use community reports as signals, then reconcile them with telemetry.
- Run a postmortem and assign one next decision.
