Roblox Experiments: a short A/B test plan
Use an experiment when the decision can be expressed as one change randomly assigned to comparable players. Before launch, choose the hypothesis, primary metric, guardrails, and action for each possible outcome. Once running, do not change assignment rules or declare a win from one green number.
Action essentials
Seven actions in priority order
MARPLA's aggregate charts help locate a problem and describe background movement. Variant comparison and the causal conclusion belong in Roblox Experiments.
Before launch, record population, control, treatment, primary metric, guardrails, and actions for win, loss, or inconclusive. Review MDE and safe fallback. Do not redefine success after start. If a release, assignment bug, or broken telemetry compromises the experiment, mark it invalid rather than rescuing it with a convenient secondary metric.
An inconclusive outcome is still useful: the test did not distinguish the minimum useful effect under these conditions. The next decision may be a better-powered rerun, a different treatment, or rejecting the idea, but not declaring a win from a random metric.
- Confirm that the question needs a causal test.
- Prepare the config, telemetry, and safe values.
- Set rollout, variants, duration, and goal.
- Choose one primary metric and guardrails.
- Locate the loss before inventing a treatment.
- Review MDE, maturity, and multiple metrics without selective hunting.
- Record the decision, limits, and next action.

Put this into practice in MARPLA
Find early drop-off in the funnel, review retention and mark the test launch as a milestone. Evaluate the randomized A/B result in Roblox Creator Hub: MARPLA’s overall charts help select a hypothesis and understand context, but do not replace a comparison of experiment participants.
