Game analysis
Roblox game analysis essentials: question, evidence, decision
Write the decision first: monitor, play-test, contact the owner, change a product feature, or stop research. Then choose the smallest evidence set that could change that decision. Public CCU, cumulative Visits, favorites, votes, update dates, and chart observations can reveal scale and movement. They cannot reveal competitor retention, revenue, acquisition mix, or profit.
Action essentials
Run two passes and preserve uncertainty
In the public pass, confirm Universe identity, timestamps, coverage, comparable windows, and whether a visible change repeats across daily cycles. Pair CCU with Visits increments, favorites, votes, update timing, and a direct play-test. Use CCU sampling rules before treating a peak or gap as product behavior.
In the owner pass, use authorized Roblox analytics for DAU, new users, retention, session time, acquisition, monetization, and custom funnels. Record the source and definition beside every important number. End with an explicit decision, confidence level, next check, and disconfirming evidence. A table full of metrics without a decision rule is research debt.
For a public competitor, “unknown” is a valid result. It narrows the question for a later observation or owner request instead of rewarding a confident guess.
- Write one decision and its deadline.
- Collect public evidence with timestamps and coverage.
- Request only the owner metrics needed to resolve the remaining uncertainty.
- Record decision, confidence, next action, and stop condition.
