Manage game tasks and checklists

One game has one owner and one team. Members can work in teams for several games.

How to use it

  1. Open Tasks and checklists: connected games appear automatically. All my games combines tasks, with each card identifying its game.
  2. Connected game members come from live game access. Manage access in Team and access. Apply a checklist and create tasks from its items.
  3. Assign an assignee and a separate reviewer, deadline and priority. Drag cards across the board or use the status selector. Complete linked tasks before checking off the checklist item.

Advice and practical context

Checklists define acceptance; tasks define work

Expand an item such as “Verify saves” into concrete tasks: reconnect recovery, repeated purchase handling, and migration of an old player profile. Each task should state reproducible conditions, expected behaviour and a record of verification. Assign one person to implement the change and a different person to review it. In review means the result is ready for evaluation; Done means evaluation has finished. If the reviewer finds a problem, return the task to In progress and describe the specific discrepancy in a comment.

Run maintenance in explicit cycles

Apply a new maintenance checklist for each update and give it a meaningful name, such as “October maintenance”. Completed checks from the previous release remain in the project. Editing a template does not change existing game checklists. Put improved rules into the template first, then apply it for the next cycle. Archive cancelled tasks so they stop blocking an item while remaining searchable. If a save conflicts, read the current task again before repeating the change; this protects decisions made by another team member.

A team belongs to one game

A connected game automatically appears in Tasks for users with active game access. Each game has one team, while All my games combines accessible tasks and labels every card with its game. Select a game to open its checklists or create a task. Manage connected game membership in Team and access: revoking access also closes its tasks, while saved work and comments remain. Projects created before connecting Roblox remain available separately.

Game tasks and checklists

Open Tasks and checklists. Tasks use the full workspace width and the same header and game picker as Unit economics. Both sections have icon tabs with an underline for the selected tab and a refresh button at the right of that row.

A green insertion line indicates the drop position. Cards move immediately while changes save in sequence in the background. A failed save displays an error and restores the last confirmed state.

Tasks open inside the workspace, keeping the main MARPLA sidebar visible. The assignee, reviewer, priority, due date and status stay pinned on the right. Save task sits below them and remains disabled until something changes.

Use headings, bold, italic, lists and quotes. Active tools have an outlined border; undo and redo become available when there are changes. The image button inserts a picture into the text.

Select it to set 15–100% width, alignment, text wrapping and a caption on the left, right or below. On narrow screens wrapping is disabled and captions appear below images. The paperclip, dashed plus button and bottom drop zone add separate attachments.

The remove button detaches an item from the document; you can undo removal before closing the editor. Click an image in a task or comment to enlarge it in place; clicking the backdrop or pressing Escape closes the preview. The checklist selector and archive button are removed from the task card; existing checklist links remain intact.

Add multiple files by clicking, dropping or pasting images, up to 20 MB per file; only game members can access attachments. Select assignees and reviewers by name and avatar. Comments support formatting, attachments and replies.

Save a new task before discussing it. Each game has one owner and one team; a user may join several teams for different games. Connected games with active access appear automatically.

Choose All my games for a combined board with a game label on every card, or open a single game. A connected game cannot belong to two teams. The team owner must own the connected game.

An unreleased project can be linked to Roblox later. Connected game membership follows live game access. Revoking access also closes its tasks.

Unreleased projects remain available separately. Checklists: an applied template disappears from this game’s suggestions, leaving an independent editable copy. Use + Own checklist for personal lists.

Select an item title or Add item to open the editor with formatting, images and files. Save the title and notes: the list shows the title and one preview line. The checklist header pencil enables renaming, dragging by the handle and reorder arrows; Done ends editing.

Trash requires confirmation. Linked tasks are preserved. Priority is marked by a stripe on the board card and a marker in the list: urgent is red, high is yellow, normal is blue and low is green.

The task toolbar places coloured priorities after My tasks, followed by a calendar button after the green flag, the person picker with avatars, reset, archive and settings. The calendar toggles due-date grouping, which is off by default. All seven list column headings sort rows; clicking again reverses direction.

Move cards by dragging or changing status in the open task. Team is available in the separate main section. The task heading, tools and close button share one toolbar.

The link icon at the end of the title copies a saved task URL; only users with access can open it. Saving closes the editor immediately and continues in the background; a failure restores the editor with your draft. Keep the page open until saving finishes.

Compact checklist tiles show a corner count; the dashed plus tile creates a checklist. The MARPLA logo uses a rounded square icon. You can create tasks from All games or a selected group.

Choose a game in the new task header; the list respects the group and creation permissions. Assignee, reviewer and saving stay disabled until a game is selected. You may enter a title first.

After selection, that game’s members become available. Saved tasks show their game in the header and cannot be moved to another game. In a user profile, Permissions shows the number of assigned game permissions.

Select it to view grouped names and descriptions. Search matches names, descriptions and sections; Done, the close button or Escape closes the dialog. Viewing does not change permissions.

Suspended access is explicitly marked as inactive. Sessions show your own devices or only another user’s session count. Search with its icon inside the field and filters stick below the site header.

Within each date or game block, all columns including empty ones match the tallest column, capped at the available viewport height; the next block follows immediately. Scrolling over cards in a long column first brings the filters to the top, then scrolls cards and passes back to the page at the boundary. Empty column areas, headings, filters, the site header and surrounding space scroll the page immediately: scroll up to return to the game picker.

Empty games start collapsed; click a game row to expand it. The new-task game picker shows names and icons. A manager can drag a card into the dashed Archive area marked with a box icon in the sticky filter row, immediately before + Task; it disappears from the active board.

The Archive status in the list does the same. In an open task, select Archive and save; a regular status restores the task. A new task description becomes editable after selecting a game.

The Archive button switches both board and list to archived tasks; the board uses four coloured priority columns. Search, person and priority filters also apply to archived tasks. To restore a task, a manager selects a regular status in the archived list.

Sync follows the settings gear; reset filters uses a funnel with a cross. Applying a template opens an independent copy for editing and hides the template while that copy exists. Deleting the checklist makes the unchanged original template available again.

Edit the checklist title directly in its header and select Done to save it. Compact two-line checklist cards stay below the site header; scroll the selector horizontally for more cards. Drag a row by its handle: the entire row follows the pointer, and a line above or below a target marks its insertion position.

The red Tasks badge counts unique tasks awaiting your action across all accessible games, regardless of current filters. Through In progress, it counts tasks assigned to you; after that column, it counts tasks you review, including Done until archived. Custom columns follow board order; renaming a built-in stage does not change its identity.

Archived tasks and projects, viewers, authorship alone and comments do not count. Owners, administrators and managers are notified for personal assignments, not all visible tasks. Each task counts once; zero hides the badge and long numbers appear in full in a pill.

The count refreshes after saved changes, when returning to the tab and every 30 seconds while visible. My tasks still filters tasks assigned to you. When switching games, recently viewed team data is reused for up to 30 seconds within the open section only.

Changes to members, roles or invitations clear the cache. The previous game’s members are not shown while another game loads.

Task list and people

Task list and Kanban show the same tasks. The first mode, All tasks, is selected by default: all active tasks for the selected game appear together, including tasks assigned to anyone and unassigned tasks. All tasks clears filters and grouping and returns from the archive to active tasks.

Filters remain when switching view or game during the current session. Select a task relationship (assignee, reviewer, author or discussion participant), then a person. Any task role searches all these fields.

Team role separately filters the participant's current game role and does not change access. Quick filters include assigned to me, created by me, under my review and unassigned. Combine search, status, priority and archive.

Group either view by assignee, reviewer, author or status; collapse a group using its header, which also shows status counts. The list includes game, status, assignee, reviewer, author, due date and priority. Sort by status, nearest deadline, priority or title.

Open a title to edit or change status directly within your permissions. Overdue dates are red. On narrow screens, scroll the table horizontally.

Authors are recorded automatically on creation and cannot be changed; older tasks without this data show Author not recorded. Author filtering does not reconstruct missing history. Reset filters returns all active tasks.

Description and image editor

The formatting toolbar lives in the task header and remains visible while the content scrolls. Choose H1, H2 or H3, bold, italic, a list, a quote, and left, center, right or justified text. The same tools work in an image caption: edit the caption in place beside the picture.

Once an image is selected, its controls remain available for width, position, full width, text wrap and caption icons for left, below or right. Drag from anywhere on the image to move it with its caption and settings. The X in the image's upper-right corner removes it; the trash icon in the image toolbar does the same.

When you paste or drop a file, an immediate placeholder and insertion position appear while upload continues in the background.

Section order

In the My Projects menu, sections appear in this order: My Games, Advertising, Payments, Events, AI analytics, Unit economics, Tasks, Messages, Team, Guides, Articles, Admin. Private sections depend on sign-in and user permissions.

Kanban settings

Beside the compact search are My tasks, Archive and a settings gear, each with a hover tooltip. Select one game to configure its board. Owners, admins and managers can rename columns, move them using arrows or a position number, and insert new columns at a chosen position.

Apply changes with Save columns. A board has 5–20 columns; existing columns and their tasks are retained. New columns do not complete tasks.

The completion column is marked in settings; renaming it does not bypass reviewer approval. Settings are shared by the game's team. The combined view shows each game's board separately.

On a conflict, refresh data and reopen settings.

Roles and invitations

The owner appoints admins. Owners and admins invite members and change roles. Managers manage the project, templates and assignments.

Developers and reviewers create tasks, comment and edit tasks assigned to them. Viewers are read-only. A task's assignee and reviewer must be different people.

An assigned reviewer or manager confirms completion. Share a one-use link with the intended person; it expires after 7 days, requires sign-in and can be revoked. The service does not send invitation emails.

Kanban and checklists

Drag tasks between columns and within a column; on mobile or with a keyboard, use each card's status selector. Tasks support description, priority, deadline, labels, assignee, reviewer and discussion. Filters show your tasks and the archive.

Game checklists contains both checklists and templates; there is no separate Templates tab. Compact cards show a title and a count in the upper-right corner. Click a card to open its full list below all cards; click again to collapse it.

Use the dashed plus tile to create a personal list. Open a template and choose Add to game checklists to create an independent copy. Creation, structure and template editing are available to owners, admins and managers under current game permissions; other members can view them.

Service templates are examples; edit their game copies. Open or create linked tasks inside an item. An item cannot be completed while its unarchived tasks remain unfinished.

Reopening a task unchecks the item. Create a custom checklist for the next maintenance cycle.

Collaborative saving

Changes are stored on the server. Data refreshes every 30 seconds while the editor is closed. On a version conflict, refresh and retry; other members' changes are not overwritten.

History retains the last 300 team changes. Limits: 100 members, 2000 tasks per game, 100 checklists with 200 items each, and 200 comments per task. Archiving preserves tasks; deleting a checklist preserves linked tasks.
